Summer Here We Come!

Ava is gearing up for summer.  We have 4 swimsuits!  Next week we start swim lessons to introduce her to the water.  Two of our other friends will also be there so it should be fun.  Jonathan was a little upset with the bikini.  He said she shouldn't be able to wear one until he's dead, lol.

Watch out boys!

I'm sexy and I know it!

Cousin Play date

Gavin and Avalyn recently had a play date.  Gavin is really sweet to Avalyn.  He'll sit on my mom or dads lap and then tap their other leg point to Ava and say "UP!"  He likes to sit on one leg and have her on the other.  So cute!  He had a lot of fun digging in her toy box, even though it's mostly girl stuff, lol.  My mom and I had a nice lunch and took the kids on a walk.

Gavin on one leg, Ava on the other!

Swing & Slide

We had some fun outdoors today to enjoy the great weather.  You'll probably never guess where I picked up this cute swing & slide set, lol.  Avalyn wasn't sure what to think of the swing but as she got use to it she started to enjoy it more.  Daddy had to help her with the slide since she's still too little.  Looking forward to more nice days to come!

Avalyns First Tea Party

So I found another steal on Craigslist, this adorable girly table and chairs set!  I bought Avalyn the tea set when she was born, but just decided to bring it out now that she's old enough.  She really liked the little treats, probably because they are similar to her blocks. She's still a little small for the table and chairs but once she grows into it I'm sure they will come in handy.

Yay new toys

Got my tea and a treat

Peek A Boo!

Can I get off this chair now?

Would you like some mom?

Avalyns New Laugh Plus Talking

Ava has discovered her "high pitched" voice.  Sometimes, it can be ear piercing, lol.  Her laugh is super cute though.  She has also started saying, "Baa  Baa" and "Goo Goo."  Of course, once I pull out the video camera she wont do it!  But, here is her laughing.

Sunshine

The weather has been getting nicer here in Kansas so time for walks and playing outside.  At first Avalyn wasn't too sure of the stroller or the grass!  I'm sure after a couple times she'll start to enjoy it.  Next on our list is the swimming pool and swing set!

The Pre Crawl

It wont be long before we have a mobile baby!  We have to help her out a little but once shes up she rocks like crazy.

7 Months!

Sleep:
Sleeping great. You have a morning and afternoon nap and will sleep 10-12 hours at bedtime. I think you like to sleep because you hardly every fuss when we put you down. You like sleeping with your taggie blankie and listen to the music from your glow bug.

Feed:
Still drinking about 28 oz of formula each day, usually 4-6 oz at a time. You also have a morning and evening meal. You like cereal and fruit for breakfast or baby yogurt. In the evening we’ve been giving you more “dinner” meals (stage 2 baby food) with a side of fruit. We’ve recently tried chicken & noodles, Mac & cheese with veggies, and vegetable risotto. You seemed to enjoy all of them. You are up to 2-4oz of baby food for your meals. We tried puffs but you just spit those out. We had more luck with yogurt melts. We break them into 2-3 pieces and you seem to like it as a little sweet treat.

Weight:
Estimated 17 pounds

Length:
Estimated 27 1/2 inches

Diaper Size:
Size 2’s and 3’s. We usually use size 2 during the day and size 3 at night. Once the sizes 2’s are gone we will not be buying anymore.

Clothes Size:
A few 6 month sleepers still fit but we’ve mostly moved on to 6-9 month and 9 month clothing.

Hair Color:
Brownish Black. This past month I was able to use a teeny tiny pony tail holder on your hair. Adorable!

Eye color:
Brown

Funniest moment:
We noticed you had been chewing on your tongue and playing with it. When we felt around in your mouth we realized you had a tooth! We have no idea how long it was there because we were waiting for the fussiness and irritability and neither of those ever happened. I also thought it was funny when I put you in a shopping cart like a big girl. You just sat there holding on, but you were kicking your little legs while they were dangling. It was so cute!

Milestones:
Sitting unassisted for long periods. Stand on your own while holding onto something (for short periods and with supervision). Getting up on your knees when you are on your tummy. Got your first tooth. Scooting around in a circle on your tummy. Rolling over several times in a row (rolling across the room). Reaching and stretching really far when you want a toy. Babbling more. Blowing bubbles. You are more aware of your surroundings and if we leave the room you sometimes start to cry.

Your favorite toy:
You still love to jump. You will jump in anything. I had you sitting in the cart at the store and you were trying to bounce up and down! You LOVE your blocks and you’ll pick each of them up and tap them on things. You enjoy banging on your piano and activity table. You still like chewing on crunchy books. You’ve started playing with toys in the bath tub too. You recently got a little play house and are starting to interact with it more.

Firsts:
First time in the big stroller
First time sitting in a shopping cart like a big girl
First time eating Puffs and Yogurt Melts
First time drinking out of a sippy cup
First taste of juice
Tried chicken & noodles, baby yogurt, Mac & cheese, mango, whole wheat rice cereal
First toot
First time playing outside on the grass

Fun Weekend and New Playhouse

We had a fun visit from Kate and Jemma this weekend.  Lots of fun shopping, swapping magazines, and watching movies.  Kate made some DELICIOUS moist chocolate cake for Jons birthday.  She even tried her first stab at making hummus.  We think it needed a little more olive oil!  Grilled cheese & tomato soup flavored chips sounded like a good mix, too bad they were nasty!  Jon grilled some yummy hamburgers and Avalyn also got to break out the new play house.  All in all, a great weekend!
