Date Night

Jon and I went to a really nice Charity Event.  It was the Snowball event put on by Catholic Charities.  It was fun to get all dressed up, and I even got my hair and makeup done.  There were lots of people there and it was nice to get to know other members of our church better.  The decorations and food were wonderful.  To finish off the evening there was live music and dancing.

Tea Parties

Ava has really been into having tea parties.  She gathers up her dolls and tells me "sit here Momma!"  She fills her toy cups and pans with water.  Then she dumps the water from one cup to another.  She also serves cheez its or goldfish.  It gets pretty wet and messy, lol.  Sometimes I find things long after the tea party ends.  Like soggy goldfish floating in water, lol.

Leo was creeping in on the party.

He just made himself a spot!!

"I Can Do It Myself"

This is Ava's new favorite saying.  She wants to do everything by herself.

Monkey Business

A little video of a recent trip to Monkey Business. This time Ava was able to go up the big slides all by herself, and she also got to do the zip line.

Tents

Ava really enjoys building and playing in tents.  Especially dads tents.  He makes some nice elaborate ones, lol.  She likes to take her snacks in there with her.  Leo usually hang out with her as well (see him chilling in the picture below?)

Ava wasn't happy Leo attacked her tent.  She was inside screaming at him to get out, and saying he was scaring her.

Dentist Appointment

Recently Ava had her first dentist appointment.  I tried to hype up the appointment, and we kept practicing dentist at home.  I'd tell her she was going to have to say, "AHHH" and "CHEESE."
Then Id brush her teeth and say I was the dentist.

We arrived and everything was going well.  She sat in the chair and got to check out the dentist tools.

I was beginning to think it was going to be a breeze.  Well, things didn't go so well once they tried to recline the chair, lol.

So we ended up doing the appointment like this, lol.  After we got reclined she did really good with getting her teeth cleaned.  They flossed one tooth and then Ava was done.  By the time the actual dentist showed up things were going downhill.  Ava was tired of holding her mouth open, and she started crying because the dentist was tugging on her lips and cheeks. Luckily she got a quick look and said Ava's teeth look good.

Afterwards Ava got a little bag with a new toothbrush and toothpaste.  I kid you not, she GASPED OUT LOUD when she pulled out the toothbrush and it had Ariel on it!

Ava also got to pick a gift from the treasure box.  She picked a giant bubble want.  That was real fun trying to explain we couldn't play with it because we had to go to school, lol!!
