Lucky Night

I'm usually not into games of any kind. I just find it too hard to learn and remember all the rules. But, my friend talked me into coming to her annual Bunko game. I have to say I had a great time!! I think I might be hooked. I even won $10. Get this, it was for having the most "losses!" It was a really fun night out with the girls.

Parisian Rendezvous

Last night I hosted my 6th house party! My theme was Paris.

Damask and hot pink set the theme.

The food consisted of a variety of quiche, tomatoes and goat cheese drizzled with olive oil & balsamic vinegar, cheese & crackers with grapes, cantaloupe wrapped in prosciutto, and cream puffs.

Pink roses and feathers were perfect for my table setting. I typed up Eiffel Tower and France "fun facts!" It was great for conversation.

I found these CUTE damask tin cans at Michaels for only $1! I bought all of them. Filled with candy they made the perfect party favor.

The fun continued at the bar. Wine and "Cham Chams" were served. The cham chams were DELICIOUS! It was 1TBS of Chambord, 2 fresh raspberries, and topped off with champagne. They paired perfectly with dark chocolate. Stealing Jonathan's line, "It was something special!" Boas and white feathers added flirty details.

Watch for next months party. "Chick Flick & Chocolate Night."

Blog Award

Thanks to Wendy at All You Need Is Love for my FIRST Blogger award! I'm so excited!

The rules are simple: just give 7 fun facts about you and then nominate 7 people for the beautiful blogger award.

1.) I love traveling, especially to Caribbean destinations. BUT, I'm actually scared of the ocean and rarely even get in!! I hope to one day visit Belize, Italy, Greece, and England. Well, the list really goes on and on.

2.) I'm addicted to what Jonathan calls "atrocious" TV. The Bachelor, Desperate Housewives, Greys Anatomy, How I Met Your Mother, and The Biggest Loser to name a few.

3.) I love planning parties. I've been hosting a monthly party at my house since August. Keep an eye out Friday for this months "Paris" party.

4.) Along with planning parties, I LOVE weddings. I planned mine (in my head) about 5 years before I even met Jonathan. Even though I'm married now I still follow several wedding websites and blogs. I even still scan wedding magazines at the store. I've already warned him we will have to do a vow renewal in about 10-20 years. Just another reason to plan a wedding!! Only a lot smaller.

5.) I'm the oldest of 4, all girls. My poor dad!!

6.) I'm a cat lover. My childhood cat, Groovy, lived 19 years! When she passed I couldn't bear to just throw her away. Her ashes are actually in a picture frame in my bedroom. Only pet lovers would understand.

7.) I love to EAT! Unfortunately there are very FEW foods I don't like. This has contributed to my life long battle of the bulge.

Now I would like pass this award on to:

OUCH!

Well, my romantic dinner with Jonathan didn't go quite as planned. Half way through prepping it I accidentally grabbed a pan handle that was extremely hot and burned quite a bit of my palm and fingers. Jon had to rush out and get first aid supplies and thanks to his moms assistance over the phone he got my hand all treated and wrapped up. We were able to enjoy our dinner, but through the commotion it ended up a tad bit overcooked.

I am happy to say that this morning the pain was 90% gone! I ended up with blisters on two fingers and was able to make it to work wearing only two band aids. Jonathan gives the credit to his extra kisses yesterday. I give it to his moms step by step first aid and Jon's fast action (well, maybe the kisses too!).

Table For Two

Since I get spoiled on Valentines Day Jonathan gets a special day every January 14th. It's been our tradition since we were dating. This year I'm making filet mignon and lobster tails. It's also exciting because it's our first dinner at our new formal dining table!

I'm sure Jonathan could care less if we were eating off paper plates but I wanted to make the table look pretty. Here's my tablescape.

I also found these neat mini food warmers for our lobster butter!

I'm looking forward to a special night this Thursday!

Bye Bye Holidays

I've been a busy bee this weekend packing up all the holiday decor. I almost forgot what the house looked like before all the decorations. It sure feels empty now! Everything is packed away as organized as I could make it. I am hanging on to the tree for one more week though! Just couldn't get myself to take it down yet.

Jons New Toy

We waited for the New Year specials to buy Jon's last Christmas present and latest toy.

A new 32 inch LCD TV for his office.

The TV cabinet is also new. I found it on Craigslist for only $40! A steal if you ask me. It's so cute, and it matches Jon's desk exactly.

He is also excited the TV came with a remote control holder which he attached to his desk.

A special thanks to Jon's parents and Rich for the Best Buy gift cards!
