Old Sacramento & Napa

While in California we took a day trip to Napa Valley. While on the Wine Train we enjoyed lunch before stopping at an organic winery. It was a great experiences and beautiful views.

At the estate we learned the history of the winery, the importance of climate, received a tour, and learned about the 2 year process of making the wine. We also received 5 tastings (Pino, Chardonnay, Zinfandel, Cabernet, and Merlot) and received an education on how to taste the wine. It was a lot of fun. We also got complimentary estate wine glasses!

We also walked around Old Sacramento. It has a charming old time feel, right on the river, and has cobblestone roads. Lots of little gift shops, museums, tattoo parlors, and candy stores.

  1. Ah! My old stomping grounds! I lived in the Wine Country until I was 7, and then my family moved about an hour north of Sacramento and still lives there. I love it there, and can't wait to visit later this summer. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

  3. Now that I visited and really enjoyed your last few posts, I want to go to Napa Valley, Mexico and ride on the train. You are a fortunate lady. The wedding looked like a lot of fun, especially the dancing. The towel figures were so cute on the beds. What a great idea! Thanks you for sharing your adventures. I can live them through you.
