1st Zoo Trip

Ava and I had a zoo play date with our adoption playgroup. We had a big turnout with 9 kiddos! It was a perfect day to go, about 75 degrees and breezy. Ava loved the long walks in her stroller but she hated the exhibits where the animals were behind glass. She was pretty scared and I don't think she understood they were in a cage. She did ok at the exhibits where the animals were behind fences. Hopefully next year she'll be more excited about the animals!

You can probably tell by my pictures, my favorite exhibits were the monkeys, polar bears, and kangaroos.  It must have been the time of day but we didn't see many of the big cats.  I think Ava would have really liked them.

Gymnastics Class

Ava had her first gymnastics class and it was..well..exhausting!! She was all over the place. She had a great time and I'm sure after a few classes she'll pick up on the routine of things.

It's hard to tell by pictures, but Ava is a big girl!  Her class is 22 months to 2 1/2.  She barely squeaked in since she technically wont be 22 months for another couple weeks.  However, she was as big as all the 2 1/2 years olds!  This girl is tall and muscular.

Ava was a natural at the beam.  After she got use to it she could walk down and back like nothing.

No surprise, she's a master jumper!  This girl has been jumping since she was born it seems.  This was her favorite activity by far.  Getting her to give the other kids a turn was a challenge!  Que temper tantrum.

We need to work on the bar skills.  She didn't like to hold on.

She loved the foam pit for about 2 minutes, then she was over it!

The Pool Is Open!

The pool is open and we were excited the weather was nice over Memorial Day weekend so we could check it out.   Ava practically jumped out of Jons arms when she was it. It was ICE cold!! She didnt care though. We started in the float but she quickly realized she could climb out of it. She wanted to explore on her own.

Water Table

I've been eyeballing water tables for a while now and finally decided to get one.  Ava had a lot of fun with it.  She wanted to swim in it though!

She loved filling the bucket and letting the water run out the bottom.  She was good at keeping it over the water table, but eventually learned she could let it drain on the cement which included her feet!

Memorial Day

The company I work for sponsored the Boy Scouts again and brought back the Flags For Freedom display.

Picnic in the Park

We recently squeezed in a picnic at the park play date with Chloe before her baby brother arrived! The girls had fun sharing snacks and running around the park. Ava is becoming quite the social butterfly. She tried to crash another families birthday party and she also had no problem taking a seat next to people on the park benches.

NE Road Trip

Jon and Avalyn had a fun trip to Nebraska last weekend to celebrate Kates birthday.  I stayed behind for some much needed R&R.
