Ren Fest

We made the annual visit to the Renaissance festival. Ava was very excited to wear her "jingles." This year she was ALL about the rides!

End of Summer Swimming

A little late but wanted to post this.  This is Ava at the end of the summer.  She started swimming without her puddle jumper.  She also started doing flips underwater!  She also liked diving for toys.

Spinach Festival

After the fall festival we went and checked out the Lenexa Spinach Festival. I didn't realize Lenexa was once called the spinach capital of the world. It was a fun time.  Lots of vendors, music, bounce houses, and a park.  We even got to see the worlds larges spinach salad, lol.

Neighborhood Fall Festival

Our neighborhood had a little fall festival for the kids. Pony rides, bounce house, and a hayride. Gavin and Ava had fun, especially on the pony ride.

Old Settlers Day

I surprised Avalyn by taking her to the Old Settlers Day. When I picked her up from school she noticed we were not going the normal way home and she kepts asking where we were going. I told her it was a surprise. When we arrived I said I thought we'd ride some rides. She said, "RIGHT NOW?!?" She was so excited.

Ava is quite the dare devil.  She was looking a bit bored on the kiddy rides so I took her on a few big rides.  She barely squeaked on!!  The minimum was 42 inches and she's 42 1/4!!  I rode a few with her and started to feel ill.  I'm getting old!  So the second (and sometimes third time) she rode by herself.  She just screamed with delight the entire time! 

We finished the night off with some games and ice cream.  Ava won 3 stuffed animals.  A puppy, shark, and fish.

 

 

4 Year Pictures

Frozen on Ice

Jon and I took Avalyn to see Frozen on Ice! SHE LOVED IT! It was such a good show. I'm amazed at what they can do with such a small space. The skating, costuming, props, etc. were excellent. It even snowed!! Ava loved seeing all the characters and singing along. She also enjoyed the guest appearances which included Mickey and his friends, Snow White, Rapunzel, Cinderella, Ariel, Nemo, Lion King, and Buzz & Woody. She was a little scared of the "snow monster" but after the show when I asked her what her favorite part was she said it was the snow monster!!

 

Sunflowers

I remember last year seeing all these pictures on Facebook of everyone going to see the sunflowers. So this year, I made sure to make the trip! It was about a 40 minute drive. But Ava and I enjoyed seeing the flowers, they were huge!  It was like a sea of yellow when we were driving up, they seemed to go on forever. We arrived at 8am and the place was already getting busy! At that time in the morning the sun was directly in our eyes for pictures. I still managed to get a couple good ones though.
