Discovery Museum

At the dinosaur exhibit we also checked out the Discovery Center. It was so fun! There were several areas including paleontology, geology, astronomy, animals, microscopes, etc. Ava loved looking at everything with the magnifying glass. She kept saying, "I found a clue." Hilarious!!

This tree had all sorts of things in it for the kids to discover with the binoculars.  Ava spotted the bird.

 

This was my favorite thing to play with!  It's a microscope that displays on the computer screen.  I looked at my fingernail.  So gross!!

Dinosaur Exhibit

Since the hot item right now is dinosaurs, I took Ava to the dinosaur exhibit. I figured I better do it now before the next best thing comes along!

The Prairie Fire Museum is beautifully done.

Ava's Idol, Mr T Rex himself.  She looked up in wonder and said, "WOW...he has BIG teeth!"

 

This was hilarious.  The big screen had a camera of the lobby and then animated dinosaurs would walk around the screen.  Ava kept looking at the TV and then looking around the lobby trying to find the dinosaurs, lol.  In the picture below she's pointing, "There's the TREX!"

 

The exhibit was pretty cool.  There were animatronics, interactive videos, life size skeletons, and "touch a fossil" areas.

Dinosaurs

One day, I was tired of Dora the Explorer and Little Charmers so I turned on Dino Dan for Ava to watch. Well, now its her new obsession. Dinosaurs all day long! Everyday she wants to watch a "new Dino Dan" because a new one records each day. She knows their names, she wants us to read books, and she even takes them in the bathtub and sleeps with them!

Here at the hibachi bar Ava ordered T Rex for dinner!  Not even kidding!!  The chef was great and played right along.  There he is grilling up the T Rex.

This was the mommy and her baby.  I've also overhead her making her dinosaurs talk.  For example, one dinosaur told another that they were "best friends."  Of course they also "roar" at each other.   I've also see her make them dance before.  So cute!  I love watching her little imagination.

Spring Dance Viewing

Ava had her spring parents watch week. Most of the kids were distracted with the big crowd in the room, but it did go a lot better than last time. The format was similar with stretching, a couple dances, and a little tumbling.

I can tell Ava is learning technique. The teacher would ask them to do different poses, like first position or releve, and she was able to do it from memory.

We also got to see their recital routine. It's to "Shake it Off." Ava did a nice job!  I recorded the teacher doing the routine and Ava loves to watch it at home and has already started memorizing the moves more.

Jons Birthday

Jon celebrated the big 4-0! We had a nice visit with family and a yummy dinner at Cheesecake Factory. Ava and I got him an exotic racing experience. Seven laps driving a Lamborghini.

Daddy/Daughter Dance

Jon took Ava to a Daddy/Daughter Dance. They got to dress up and Ava got a corsage.  At the event the dads had bbq and the girls had Chick-fil-A.  She got to visit and get a picture with Queen Elsa and Olaf!  She also enjoyed the dancing.  I wish I could have been there!

 

Girly Date

A cute coffee shop opened up across the street so Ava and I went and checked it out.  We shared a smoothie and a cookie! 

Disney on Ice

We took Ava to the Disney on Ice show where she got to see Mickey and his crew, the Lion King, Little Mermaid, Lilo & Stitch, and Peter Pan.  She loved it so much.  I mean, more than anything we've taken her to, she LOVED this show!!  Totally worth the $$ and the crowds.  It was so awesome that we decided to get tickets to the FROZEN ON ICE!!  It's coming in August so it's the perfect birthday gift for her.  I'm so excited too!!
